Small Business Vs. Karen Mills?
It seems the American Small Business League is wrestling with the appointment of Karen Mills as new head of the SBA…hmmmm. At a time when small businesses are hoping to pin down government contracts through an Obama stimulus plan, the ASBL sees Mills as a sumo venture capitalist who represents Obama’s desire to redefine the federal definition of “small business” and squash the independent business owner.
The ASBL press release states, “Under the proposed Obama Administration policy, ‘independently owned’ will be changed to include firms that are not independently owned, but are actually controlled by wealthy investors and possibly some of the nation’s largest venture capital firms.” Will these wealthy venture capitalists wrestle all the contracts from the small middle class entrepreneurs?
